Part 4

*Day 4* (Thursday)

Buffy and Willow were lounging around the loft, soaps.  Willow was so wrapped up into the story to notice how jumpy Buffy was.  Willow didn't know it, but Buffy really needed her as a distraction, all she could think of was Angel; and with him in the bedroom taking a nap, she felt insane.  Her plan from the other day had only succeeded in making her more crazy, but at least she made Angel just as crazy as she was.  The games they played went too far last night, and Buffy couldn't stop thinking about how wonderful it would have been if they had just indulged.

Buffy knew that Willow was getting sick and tired of her calling all the time to come over and hang with her, Buffy didn't know it, but Willow knew she was just using her as a distraction; and it was annoying.  Willow didn't mind it, and didn't mind spending time with Buffy, but she thought this whole bet thing was ridiculous, Buffy should just go into the bedroom, wake Angel up, and just admit they were wrong and stop the bet.  Willow knew that would never happen, their pride was too important to them.

Buffy's thoughts went from the t.v and to last night, the way Angel's hand had clutched her around the waist, so smooth and....Clutching her head.  "Stop it!" Buffy commanded herself.

Willow turned to her.  "Are you OK?"

Buffy smiled a fake smile.  "Fine...I'm fine, I'm just getting a little carried away by this scene." She said motioning to the t.v.

"Buffy.  It's a commercial." Willow said confusingly.

"Oh..I knew that." She said quickly, getting up from her seat, Buffy stormed into the kitchen.

From inside the kitchen Willow heard her call out, "Just getting a glass of water, be back in a minute!"

Willow got up and padded to the kitchen, to find out what was going on with her friend.  She watched as Buffy downed another glass of water in an effort to regain calm.

"Buffy?"

Nearly dropping the glass.  "Yeah." Buffy sat the glass down, and walked towards Willow.

Willow stopped her, and gave Buffy the 'resolve face.'  "Buffy what's going on?"

Seeing the resolve face, Buffy pouted.  "I want Angel." She whined.

Willow rolled her eyes.  "Buffy....."

"I know, but all I can think of is last night, and I get trembly." Buffy's eyes got all dreamy as she talked about her love.  Snapping out of it quickly.  "Don't worry, I can keep the bet, but last night, it almost happened again; I went too far in the game and ... no I have to concentrate on something else."

Willow nodded "That's good, think of something else."

Buffy smiled and walked passed her, to go back into the living room; she could do this, she could keep her mind off Angel's intense eyes staring down at her.  Shaking her head of these impure thoughts rushing at her, Buffy took a deep breath.

That breath turned into a gasp as Angel walked into the room.

***

Angel walked into the living room, rubbing the last remains of sleep from his eyes.  He was so fidgety that he wanted to lay down and get some more sleep; take his mind off things, especially Buffy, but he couldn't fall back asleep, not with her face playing over and over in his dreams.

He heard her gasp and looked straight at her, he began to crack his knuckles, hoping it would distract him.  Angel wanted her so bad, but he knew if he touched her, even just a brush; he would lose all control.  It was the end of the line, all the games and stunts they pulled on each other just fuel their hormones to a point beyond control

"Hey Will." He acknowledged her, and looked at Buffy.  "Hi." He said, and walked into the kitchen.

Buffy looked at him with a longing, he looked so cute in his shorts, and T-shirt, and his fuzzy bed hair; she just wanted to run her fingers through.

Angel grabbed an apple of the table, he started to eat as fast as possible, all is hormones were raging everytime he saw her, it just made him hungry; he needed something to satisfy the hunger, even though it wasn't for food.  When he finished the apple, he threw it away, and went back into the bedroom's bathroom; to take a shower, a nice cold shower.

Willow grabbed her shoes, and her bag.  "Buffy, I gotta go."

Buffy's eyes widened.  "No!!  Don't please."

"Buffy I have to start on my term paper for English, and you finished yours already."

"Willow, I really need you right now, I can't stay here with him, alone." Buffy whined, and she was dead serious.

Willow didn't want to be mean, but this needed to be said.  "Buffy, grow up!!"

Buffy's lower lip pouted.

"You two need to just concede this stupid bet, you have nothing to prove especially to Spike, so let it go." Willow walked to the front door.  "I'll call you later."  The door shut behind her.

Buffy turned from the door, to face the hallway where the bedroom was, where Angel was.  She walked slowly in that direction, Buffy felt like she was stalking her way through her own home, she came into the bedroom, and nearly dropped to the floor at what she saw.  Angel was standing their, only a towel wrapped around his waist, that slung on his hips; beads of water was dripping all down his back, his arms, his legs...

Buffy had to grab the door frame just to keep her balance.

Angel felt good, that cold shower had worked perfectly.  He didn't feel as worked up as before, but at least he wasn't hanging on by a thin thread of sanity.  All thoughts of closing the bedroom door didn't even register, Angel began to unravel his towel from his waist......

"DON'T!!!"

Angel clutched the towel to him before it could drop, he turned to see Buffy with a hand over her eyes.  "Buffy..I..I didn't know you were there."

"Sorry." She muttered, wanting so bad to pull her hand away, to see him.  "I'll turn around so you can change."  She faced the hallway and breathed, in and out, waiting for him say OK.

"I'm dressed." He called to her, and sat on the bed, finger combing his damp hair.

Buffy turned to him and he was wearing a black tank top, and black boxers.  That's not what she would call dressed, but it was better than the nude.  She walked over, and sat on her side of the bed, with her back to Angel.

Buffy started feeling the intense electricity she always felt when he was near, and Angel felt the same thing.  They were both trying to push down the ache in them both, but it was so hard, all they had to do was look at each other, and the line would be crossed.  Angel cleared his throat.  "Buffy, I'm not gonna play games anymore, I want you right now."

"Me too." She breathed.  "But the bet...There's only 24 hours left."

"I know, wait we added on to it." Angel whined

Sighing.  "Spike doesn't know that." Not even thinking about what she just said, when did they start worrying about what Spike was telling them to or not to do.  Obviously that didn't register.

"Yeah." He said, turning around to look at her.  "So after midnight we could have sex."  Angel's face lit up.

"Yeah." Buffy said brightly, both forgetting that after midnight on Friday would they be able to have sex.

Buffy and Angel smiled at each other, agreeing that soon this bet was going to be over.  The two looked into each others eyes, happy about how things were, but they soon beginning to fall into the pools of their eyes.  The lovers inched closer to one another, and before they knew it, Buffy and Angel grabbed each other, and kissed hungrily.  Angel pulled Buffy into his chest, and laid her in a horizontal position.  Buffy started nipping at his neck, making sure she hit Angel's favorite pressure point.  He moaned, letting her know he was enjoying this.

But a rational thought came to Angel.  "No, we can't not yet." He said, nibbling her ear, and eventually he pulled his mouth away.

"I know." Buffy said, running her hands down his back, and still nibbling his neck.  "We gotta stop."  Buffy started pulling on his shirt.

"Yeah."

Buffy moaned, he had hit a sensitive spot.  "Yeah, we should stop, but it feels so right." She whispered.

Soon their clothes were just a memory, and so was the bet.  All thoughts had left the confines of their minds, and an explosion of love and lust ignited.  Three hours later, Buffy and Angel were lounging around the bedroom, cuddling each other.

"You realize we lost the bet right." Angel implied, stroking his hand Buffy's arm.

Buffy nodded.  "Does that mean Spike was right, that we don't know each other as we thought we did?"

"I don't think so."

Buffy took a moment, and smiled.  "OK." And cuddled closer to Angel.  Maybe they didn't know each other as well as they thought, but maybe they did, they both knew that they weren't gonna survive; the challenge, and everything they didn't know about each other, they would learn in the years to come.
