It was a bright afternoon at U. C Sunnydale, and the day was much appreciated by the students, especially Buffy and Willow; who were in deep conversation about the excursions of Buffy and Angel during the past 2 days in L.A.
"What else??" Willow squealed in excitement. "What happened when you found out he was human."
"Well," A smile crept up on Buffy's glowing face. " At first we were being all cautious and careful, you know 'is it permanent, should we do this, and yadda yadda... But when I was about to leave, I touched him, and it was like an intensity went through us, a power came over us, and we started kissing....."
"AND?!?!"
"We went at it, right there..."
"In the kitchen?" Willow said, he mouth in the shape of an 'o'
"Yeah...and Will, it was incredible. It was like all that pent up love, passion was finally released, I felt whole again."
Willow smiled brightly. "Oh..Buffy, that's so romantic...it's perfect. I'm so happy for you, the both of you."
"Thanks Will."
"So...anything else?" Willow said devilishly
"You are so noisy.... But yeah. Afterwards we were in bed, and I helped him discover food."
"Ohhhh"
"Yeah!!!" Buffy said brightly, she felt so free, and spirited; like she could do anything, her natural high was in place. "But at one point it was gone."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but Angel found out that I would die if he stayed human, cause he wouldn't have been able to protect me as a normal man; he asked the oracles to change him back. "
"Angel always put himself before others...." Willow declared
Buffy nodded, she slightly smiled at the thought. Angel proved more than once that he would rather die than let anything happen to anyone he loves...especially Buffy; and it showed how loyal he really could be. "Yeah ... but for some reason the oracles didn't do what he asked."
"Why?"
"Angel told me that they felt that he suffered enough, and that he was worthy for something better... So they restored his strength instead. "Buffy said smiling, knowing that he and Angel were together now, and nothing would tear them apart.
Willow gleamed. "Buffy that's so wonderful....."
Buffy breathed a sigh, she didn't know where it came from, it was like a weight she had was finally gone, and now she could move on...with Angel.
Willow saw the look in Buffy's eyes, and heard the sigh she made, Willow was so happy for Buffy, she was finally at peace.
Angel made his way onto the campus, the sun was shining down on him, making his smile look even more brighter than before. He relished the feel of warmth on his features, thinking of warmth; Angel began thinking of the warmth and love that Buffy gave him. That made him even more excited about seeing her; the surprise he planned would make her just as excited as he was, if he could find her. Angel glanced around searching for the petite blond, until he heard her voice. He turned around and saw her sitting with Willow; she look more beautiful everytime he saw her. 'How had he ever been able to turn and walk away from her?' He thought, but let it go, he had her now, and wasn't going to let Buffy go...ever.
Angel made his way behind her, not making a sound; Willow saw him behind her and her face lit up, but hid it quickly when she saw the 'act normal' look on Angel's face. Angel crept up, and grabbed her by the waist, a shriek coming from Buffy.
Buffy crained her neck, and saw Angel. "Angel!!! Don't ever do that!" She tried to sound angry but the look in her eyes gave her up.
Angel smiled and set her down. She quickly turned, and was in his arms instantly; showering his face with kisses. Angel cupped her face, and kissed her passionately, as if it were the last kiss he would ever bestow upon her.
Both forgetting about Willow, who was sitting there with a big smile on her face, she got up and made an exit, happy for her two best friends.
The need for air finally came, and the two lovers broke apart. Buffy looked in his eyes, dreamily. Angel looked at her in the exact same state, he stepped back to give her some space, but held onto her hand and gave it a tug. "Come with me"
Buffy raised an eyebrow. "Why??"
Angel smirked. "Because I have something for you.....something you'll like."
Buffy didn't say anything else, and let Angel pull her towards the parking lot, where the car was. Pulling out of the campus, Angel headed down the road, with a very happy mind. He kept glancing from Buffy to the road, and back again. He couldn't help notice the sun glowing on her face, the wind blowing her hair. He was entrapped by her appearance. But also not wanting to kill her and himself in a car accident, he put his eyes back on the road.
Buffy glanced over at Angel. "So.. where are we going??" She asked sweetly
"It's a surprise."
Buffy smiled and let it go from there, she liked surprises, especially Angel's surprises. With that, Buffy scooted over and leaned up against Angel. "Will I like this surprise?" She flirted.
Angel smiled, but didn't say anything, he'd let her find out for herself. They made it down toward L. A, but not crossing the city line; just 5 miles from east L.A, they were still in Sunnnydale. He pulled onto a curb and parked the car. He reached into the glove compartment, and pulled out a red scarf. Angel turned to her "Close your eyes."
Buffy complied immediately, and he wrapped the scar around her eyes. When he knew she couldn't see anything, he got out of the car, and went around to her side of the car; to let her out. Tugging her hand he lead her into a building, it appeared to be a condo; a rather large condo. Angel pulled out a key card, sticking it into a slot and the doors opened automatically; security was tight. He and Buffy got onto an elevator. Buffy was trying to not to show how anxious she was, but it couldn't be helped. When the elevator door opened, Angel led her in to a flat; he stood behind Buffy and removed the scarf.
Buffy gasped from the appearance, she moved away from Angel to look around. The flat was well-furnished, the living room had an electric fireplace in the center, and paintings adorned the wall; she walked to the sliding doors and went out onto the balcony. It was a great view of the city, from that high up.
Angel walked up behind her, he bent down and gave her a soft, gentle kiss on the side of her neck. He wrapped her in his arms. "Welcome Home."
Buffy's eyes brightened. "Home?"
Angel nodded with a smile. "Yes, ours." Buffy turned around, smiling brightly, she hugged him fiercely. Angel happily returned the hug, while nuzzling her neck. "Want to see the rest of the place?"
Buffy nodded and went back inside, passing the dining room, she made her way to the spacious kitchen, with a generous work area and all of the necessary appliances. Going down a long hallway, and up 3 steps, Buffy found herself in the master bedroom and master bath; the bedroom had a large window as a wall, that led to another balcony; with a curtain pulled to the side, that also had a great view of the city. The king-sized bed was made of oak with four tall posts. Sheer white curtains tied to the posts, with a white lace ribbon, creating a canopy. White and black satin sheets and pillows covered the bed, and matching nightstands on both sides of the bed; and two dressers accompanied it.
Angel walked up beside her. "Do you like it??"
Buffy pulled him into a sensual kiss that left them both breathless. "I love it. But how can we afford this?"
Angel put his fingers over his lips to silence her. "Money is not an issue, not when it comes to you."
"But..."
"Shhh."Angel shook his head. "Buffy I've been around a long time, I'm very much financially set; their's no worry, except how were going to fit all your stuff here." He smiled.
Buffy smiled as well, letting the subject, and concentrating on her and her lovers new home.
