Christmas/Hannukah Fanfic Contest

Welcome! This is the Rules and Regulations Page for the Christmas/Hannukah Fanfic Contest. It is held every year and it usually starts around the end of Novemeber with the deadline being a few days before Christmas. Since the Contest is not in progress at the moment, the rules and regulations are subject to minor changes, one of the reasons I have this up at all though, is to keep the changes from being huge.

The prize: One of the best an author can hope for: exposure, prestige, and publicity! ... Well, two out of three ain't bad. The winning fanfic will be posted on Daydreams of BtVS's main page from December 24 - 26th. 3 days in a place of honor and the greatest exposure, plus a nifty graphic kinda of like this one but personalized.

Now I know that a Christmas/Hannukah Contest may seem very commercial and very early, but I want to make sure that everyone has a month to write their entries. And as for the commercial part, this is just to get people in the spirit of things, not for commercial gain. It's a Christmas/Hannukah fic because most of the BtVS characters celebrate Christmas, except for Willow who celebrates Hannukah (or at least she did one season, I have no idea what she celbrates now) It's also, so that there will be a special surprise for everyone at the end of the contest, especially for whoever wins. And because, I feel good writing should be rewarded. And most importantly, because I will take any excuse to throw a party, especially during the winter, when people (including me) are more inclined to depression. So if you don't like it, you don't have to enter. For those who do want to enter though, once you've made sure everything meets the rules and regulations below, send entries to abaumgar@gmu.edu with the subject Contest entry.
