Prologue
Giles was walking down the stairs towards the kitchen. He stopped to look at the clock, which read 3.30 am. He walked into the kitchen and put the kettle on the stove. He walked out into the living room and went to sit on the couch.
"Hey, watch it!"
"Ahhh!!!" Giles screamed at the top of his lungs. Spike emerged from the blanket on the couch. "What are you doing here?"
"The power in my crypt went out and it's not that pleasant to sleep in anymore. You know how it is. You're all excited about getting a new crypt and two weeks later the novelty wears off." Spike sat up.
"How long have you been sleeping here?" Giles was annoyed.
"About two weeks."
"Two weeks! Two weeks and I haven't noticed?" Giles was yelling now.
"Guess not." The kettle whistled. "Could you heat up some blood while you're in there?"
